The goal is to continue serving customers with outstanding product portfolio. The acquisition was part of Lindström’s strategy to strengthen and grow its operations in China.
Lindström which was already active in the cleanroom sector in Finland and in Suzhou, China, has had a presence in China workwear services market since 2006. The acquisition fulfils its ambitions of expanding its operations and strengthening its position in China.
“The acquisition is an exciting expansion of our operations in the market. We see a growing demand for cleanroom services in the market, especially in the pharmaceutical industry, biotech and medical device industry. The goal is to continue serving customers with even more outstanding product portfolio,” says Bill Yu Bin, Managing Director, Lindström China.
“During the next five years our target is to grow at fast pace cleanroom services becoming important and integral part of our offering in the market – providing an increasing amount of turnover.”
“We’re confident that we have found the ideal buyer in Lindström. It is a renowned family-run company that will continue to provide good service to our customers. The decision to sell our business in China is a strategic one. We want to focus on our key market in Europe in the future,” says Max Teichner, CEO of CWS-boco Group.
At the moment Lindström employs around 100 people in China. It serves its customers in China from its service centers in Beijing, Suzhou and Guangzhou.
Overall, Lindström had a turnover of €302m in 2015. It operates in 24 European and Asian countries, employing 3,200 people, and more than a million people wear its workwear each day. Last year, the company adopted a plan to increase turnover by about €200m during the next five years, with this being worth €500m by 2020, partly through acquisitions.
